About

Hyatt Regency Calgary was given a fresh and exciting opportunity to update its art collection as it approached its 20th anniversary. The collection was put together under the direction of renowned art curator Patti Dibski, proprietor of Gibson Fine Art. The collection brought together the best in the local art scene and reflects Western Canada’s unique beauty.

Hyatt collaborated extensively with upcoming and well-known Canadian artists, commissioning and selecting pieces that reflected the vast Alberta landscape. The unique aspect of the province, from the Rocky Mountains to the vast openness of the prairies, was encouraged to be explored by artists through modern interpretations.

The highly realistic Rocky Mountain landscapes series by Lucas Kratochwil, which can be found on the third floor, the vivid works by three Indigenous artists, Jason Carter, Neepin Auger, and Don (AhnAhnsisi) McIntyre, and an impressive collection of historical photographs by photographer Harry Palmer are just a few of the collection's more notable pieces.

Hyatt Regency takes great pride and honour in housing a wide range of works of art for the enjoyment of our visitors and the surrounding community.
