Art on Regency Club & 18th Floor
On the 18th floor of Hyatt Regency Calgary, a breathtakingly magnificent landscape painting has been the centre point for more than 20 years. A painting called Opal Range was commissioned for the swimming pool area even before the hotel opened in May 2000.
Located on the surface of Hyatt’s ballroom roof, a remarkable artwork is one of the largest pieces ever created specifically to be viewed from above—whether from a high‑rise hotel room or an airplane. Using four shades of rock, the roof has been transformed into a landscape echoing Calgary’s iconic foothills, mountain vistas and sweeping river valleys.
